I created the live-painted backgrounds for this theatre piece. My live digital paintings provided both a scenography for the narration (performed by Italian writer and actor Stefano Benni) and a storytelling tool that integrated and illustrated Marquez’s words in a layered dialogue with words and music.

The 2-hours-long narration was fully illustrated with dozens of live-painted scenes, pre-made backgrounds and even a 5-minutes long edited video sequence.

Live music and sound environments created by the musicians Vincenzo Vasi / Valeria Sturba were the third narrative line and often created a strongly suggestive and dream-like storytelling tool, opening wordless narrative sequences.
