“Leibniz-Forschungsmuseen: Protecting and preserving for the future”
The eight Leibniz research museums in Germany, show their efforts to protect and preserve our cultural heritage in a film series.
The series consists of 8 short films ideated and created by Libellulafilm. Each film documents the effort of the museums to preserve and restore a particular item from their collection.
I have been asked to produce 16 painted animations to be integrated in the 8 films. My contribution focuses on the history of the items described in each film, otherwise very hard or even impossible to document with any sort of original footage.
The 8 museums are :
Deutsches Bergbau-Museum, Bochum
Deutsches Museum, München
Deutsches Schifffahrtsmuseum, Bremerhaven
Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg
Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin
Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum, Mainz
Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung, Frankfurt
Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig, Bonn
