On July 1st 2017 me and sound artist Nicola Di Croce were invited to FLUMINE Festival to perform a live-storytelling based on the issues threatening the survival of river Piave, one of the best known and historycally relevant water streams of Italy, now almost dry due to human interventions.
The team of FLUMINE provived us with great and heartfelt interviews to experts and local people who live in contact with river Piave. They also took Nicola on a walking tour to gather field recorded sounds and noises from the natural environment and rich fauna of the riverbanks.
The performance took place in an open space into the woods thanks to a power generator and the tenacity of FLUMINE’s people. It’s been one of the most beautiful and intimate settings I’ve performed in. Fireflies and lightnings of a distant storm gave it a magical touch.
Below is a trailer of the performance.
